Autism & Scratching / Biting

Autism & Scratching / Biting

One of my sons has the Hulk Moment so bad that in the process of trying to calm him down he scratches or bites me. He does it with his full strength often leaving me with bloody scrapes on my skin or deep wounds that leave the area black and blue. Other times he will try to slap, scrape and kick. At one time he knock my glasses clear off my face that I was certain they were broken but luckily they were not. What has been your worst injury while trying to control an aggressive autistic child / adult?

Biting Scratching and Autism

Name: Sally
Country:

Comments: I remember those days, my son would get into a total fit and my husband and I had to restrain him from hurting himself. Sometimes he would even bite himself! Good news is as he got older these outbursts got less and less and now he uses other methods when he is angry.
