Abusive LDS Husbands / Fathers
Have you ever went home teaching and came across the man of the house (A member) as being abusive towards his family in the way he speaks to them? What would you do to help the situation? Would you confront him about it?
I remember going into this one home on my first visit to the home and something didn't feel right. I happened to have a book with me and one of the Chapters was Happiness is Homemade. I read a few quotes I don't know what effect it had but I noticed the father didn't have a pleasant expression on his face, nor the mother.
Well...we can't judge just based on expression, if you see mine then you will think I am an abuser because I hardly smile...I think the key is to have a close relationship with the family and their interactions with each other.
I never had this issue before but the post made me think. I know in the past the church used to tell their members not to contact the police but nowadays you can't take that chance so if I was in that situation I would be calling the cops right away.
