At least 40 U.S. Veterans died while waiting for appointments at the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Health Care system; many of them were placed on a secret waiting list.
The secret list was part of an elaborate scheme designed by Veterans Affairs managers in Phoenix who were trying to hide that 1,400 to 1,600 sick veterans were forced to wait months to see a doctor, according to a recently retired top VA doctor and several high-level sources.
For six months, CNN has been reporting on extended delays in health care appointments suffered by veterans across the country, some of whom died while waiting for appointments and care. But the new revelations about the Phoenix VA -- reported exclusively by Scott Bronstein and Drew Griffin on CNN's "AC360" -- are perhaps the most disturbing thus far. Ref. CNN
Veterans more likely to delay seeking health care
Military veterans are more likely to report delays in seeking necessary healthcare, compared to the US general population, reports a new study. Delays in seeking care are an important issue in the US healthcare system, working against efforts to improve high-quality, effective healthcare. Previous studies have reported that type of health insurance coverage affects delays in receiving care. Ref. Source 4a.
From the recent controversies we know the reason for this and it needs to stop. If anyone in this country needs help is the citizens that have put their lives on the line for our freedom!

Is the US prepared to take care of its veterans. I can safely say with confidence - NO it is not. I have been in the VA system for numerous years now and I am still fighting with them. I am service connected and yet they still try to tell me I am the only one reporting symptoms. I just tell them yeah you have this big medical facility to care for me only. They are such a joke and times. I do not see it getting any better either.
