Theaton will stay in place for a bit and keep observing the lone Kobold and the newcomer to see if he can make out what or who it is.
Out of Character: Yeah I would expect it too but alas did not happen. Here are the rolls in case you need them: 11, 17, 8, 14, 6, 19
The kobold finishes his ramshackle construction when the light pattering rain quickly turns into heavy pelting drops. The kobold has jumped into the hole in the tree and is acting as a lookout. It is difficult to see, but Theaton believes he sees a very small person running through the grass.
It might rain for a while, Theaton can predict that tomorrow early morning will only be a thick fog, followed by rain later. How long is Theaton willing to wait? Days, weeks? Does he have an idea of how to deal with the weather?
Jhod doesn't have many supplies, but the party has kept 5 old tents from the bandits. Feel free to request cleric spells as well (Jhod has level 2 spells).
Theaton will stay a bit longer before he turns back and heads back to the shelter. There he will assist the others in putting up the tents in a way to keep the rain from coming in with the wind.
Out of Character: Being a ranger type he would know how to deal with most every type of weather.
With the shelter set up, the party wait. You lose sight of the tree a mile away as the rain falls harder. Hours later, night falls and Jhod provides light spells so that they won't get put out. Despite the rain, it is warm enough to not need fire.
Sunday 17 Pharast
The morning starts with a heavy fog, but Theaton knows it will rain soon enough.
Out of Character: I don't doubt that, considering the +7 in survival. I just needed to know if he's staying put or risking going out. And either way, for how long or under which conditions?
The fog and mud make it difficult to move and see, but Theaton spots no trails or tracks from the camp. Even the expected 3 sets of hooves from your own mounts have been washed away. Later, the rain returns and halts any progress.
Moonday 18 Pharast
The rain falls incessantly through the night and through the morning. Morale is getting low, and the clerics are quickly exhausting their religious knowledge, but the debates become more heated and personal.
A cold northeasterly wind picks up and Theaton correctly predicts snow to follow. Soon the hill in front of the party is covered in patches of white. Theaton also believes that the next day will precipitate sleet and the wind will only get worse. Not to mention the temperature dropping. However, the day after should finally be a respite, albeit still cold.
Shivas has an outfit prepared, and Jhod can protect himself with magic. He offers a casting of Endure Elements on Theaton for the next day.
Theaton will tell the others what he feels the weather is going to do. Staying in this location while a bit cramped is the best bet and allows them time to relax and study the mapping they have done so far and what the next steps could be.
Toilday 19 Pharast
The temperature and wind become unbearable as a heavy sleet covers the hillside. It is painful to sit through, but Jhod's protective spell prevents any real damage. The tents flap wildly, threatening to fly away. Hail eventually crashes down damaging the tents.
Towards the end of the day the weather calms, but any travel would be reckless and damaging to the horses. Night falls and the entire countryside is eerily quiet and sleep finds all, except at the time to be on watch.
Wealday 20 Pharast
It is a cold morning when you awaken. The clerics prepare spells and you all eat rations, which are about half depleted. The hillside shines with ice and water, and it is better to travel on foot for now, until it melts in the afternoon. The great oak tree with no leaves looms ahead, looking like a claw against the cloudy sky.
Out of Character: Please roll 2 Perception checks every post you decide to travel.
