I cast Detect Magic on the items and utilize Spellcraft to attempt to identify the potions while Caelum cross-references with Perception. While I'm not good at healing, I will try to assist Caelum, who is also not good at healing.
"I'd be happy to accompany you Theaton. In addition to Sylvan, I also know Draconic and Celestial, should we ever need it."
Out of Character: I don't claim most things because I'd rather they be split amongst the party members.
Zork observes the party interactions indirectly being more concerned about the place he steps on and his friends, Grizzly and his faithful horse.
With Caelum doing a good job of tending to him, Mykael heals 10 hit points overnight, with his faith that's a total of 18 healed.
While Archival can't quite tell what one of potions is from its aura, Caelum recognises the first as a Potion of Hide From Undead. The second emits more of a divine radiance, and both agree it's a Potion of Sanctuary.
Down by the river, where a 20 foot high gorge cuts through the hilly landscape, you can see the pylons from which rope hangs limply, falling into the chasm and swept by the current. Looking over the edge, there are still some of the pilings and trusses below, but it's been mostly cleared. In a bough of the remaining structure sits what looks like an elf child, but has hair of seaweed, webs between her fingers and toes, and is clothed in leaves, seaweed and lily-pads.
"Thee-ah-ton!" She exclaims, pronouncing each syllable. She then continues in the Sylvan tongue, but Theaton has learned the meaning of her first sentence, as she points with her hand to Archival and Caelum, asking "Who do I have the pleasure of meeting?"
When acquainted and asked for her information, she replies, "From what I saw, There's a set of small wooden walls on a hill, not very big, maybe twice this river." She motions to the 60' foot wide gorge, then traces out a rough square in the air. "I saw three high points that poke above the wall and there is always a human in each."
"I also saw people come and go, but don't know exactly how many are inside. The first group of three had full sacks and a chest. They go up the only path on the barren hill, path is maybe half as wide as this river but rather long." She jumps off her resting place and dives in, swimming downstream 300 feet, then shouting back, "This long!"
She swims back and treads water as she continues, "Then, after one night, the same group leaves with empty sacks and no chest. Second group was 5 people, but 4 stayed outside, away from the hill, while silver carrying person went inside, then back out with weapons. Both times they said something at the gate, but I was too far away to hear."
"Also people from inside randomly go down the path for hunting and bring back lots of meat. Sometimes fishing in this river and sometimes they take water in barrels."
She smiles and asks, "Anything else you wanted?"
Zork, away from the others, sees the rotting remains of the creature have been washed away in the night, leaving behind only the bones of various animals. Clearly, the two brave enough to dig for treasure had done a good job. Grizzly still avoids that exact spot, since there is a lingering smell.
Out of Character: Txtrpg, will you be levelling up your own character or are you waiting for a few pointers?

Theaton introduces Bal to Archival. He looks at Bal and says, "Thanks for all you have helped us with. I think we may see about ending this groups influence in this area. Have you heard from your friends in the lake or are they still silent. What if anything needs to be moved from the lake area besides the bad men?" Looking around Theaton says, "Tyg can you show yourself. Archival is a friend who you can trust too. Do you have any info that can help us?"
Looking at Archival, "Seems there are still two other groups of bandits working in the area with the Stag lord too. But if they are not at the fort now we will have to watch for them if we can not get inside quickly."
With a thought that goes through his head Theaton looks back to Bal. "Bal how close can one get to the towers that are above the walls. Can one get close to them to shoot them with an arrow?"
In Character: Zork joins the ensuing conversations and listens. Surprised he looks over to the others, "Someone has found treasure, maybe they will be willing to share." A sly smile crosses his face before returning to bland expression.
Out of Character: Sorry, still need to do that.
In Sylvan I state, "It is a pleasure to meet you Bal and Tyg. It is interesting that the second group had four stay outside while the first all went in… I wonder why." After a moments pondering I dismiss it with a shrug. "This is a difficult situation Theaton. If we assault the keep while the other groups are near, we run the risk of having them get reinforcements. If we take out the other groups before assaulting the keep, we also run the risk of Restov's mages finding the location and stopping us from collecting on the bounty.".
With the click of her fingers, a Grig appears on the opposite bank of the gorge, a tiny creature with the upper body of a lithe elf and the lower body of a cricket. Her hair is white and short antennae sprout from he temples but unlike the nixie, Tyg is unclothed. She smiles and waves to Archival and Caelum.
Bal replies, in Sylvan translated by both Archival and Tyg, "I haven't talked to my friends yet. The lake is the domain of the lake fey so I would have to make sure what they want. I haven't talked to them so I just don't know. The floating lights are also gone."
Tyg adds, in Common, "I do have some more details I spotted while flying over, invisible of course. It's mostly a ruined structure, and there are walkways linking some platforms to the towers. Two separate raised areas, separated by a stone wall.
"It's also such a sad and dull place. No plants giving no colour. With a little effort it could look much prettier."
Bal replies to Theaton's question, "Entire pathway is barren and so is the surrounding hill. There are some thorny bushes and some boulders to hide behind, but from so far away, it will be a hard shot. They also have their own wooden walls in the tower, about half my height." She motions a two foot high wall, something that would surely provide cover to a seated man.
As Zork walks over, Tyg crosses her arms and points straight at him, talking in Common, "You are the rude Zork who has been bothering us. We have left you alone for half a moon and I hope you can appreciate the scouting help we are giving to Theaton. You should learn your manners from him. You might even apologize and leave us a tribute in our nests. My friend Perlivash hasn't left that place because of you."
Bal has a simple theory for Archival, "The group that stayed outside didn't need shelter overnight. So maybe they let the first group in simply because they asked? Or maybe not everyone in the second group knew the words to get in?
Kesten, who had been following but had slept through the fight at night, adds, "The mages of Restov aren't as organised as other cities. Two or more of them will be searching the same region. They're more like contractors, and that's how the Swordlords like it, since it's cheaper. And that's before the message even enters the bureaucratic system of the lords.
"The other bandits can't be far… "
Bal interrupts, "They left the fort 8 and 13 days ago."
Kesten continues, "Then there's little hope of finding them out in the forest. Perhaps killing the Stag Lord will cause them to panic? Perhaps they will return and we can ambush them? Who knows?"
Out of Character: Feel free to claim the items or the potions identified above. I thought Zork wasn't interested in any of it apart from gold.
In Character: Zork postures up after hearing the accusations. He points to the fey and says,
"Bothering you? Why I think its all the opposite!"
Then recognizing his need for the fey at the moment he slouches down a bit and continues,
"I'll admit that I did notice you have not been… "
He strongly emphasizes, "Bothering" pauses and then continues, "Me for a bit but I will like to clarify that I have donated before and if you were satisfied then all will be well but your greediness has become more than unnecessary considering I am a man in debt."
Knowing he is sounding rather boring and irritating he ends, "So what donation will satisfy you, let me hear it… "
Out of Character: Zork isn't interested in anything apart from the gold to clear his debt.
