Game Master says...

The wisp disappears from sight again and you hear the sound of approaching galloping. You ride out to greet the four horsemen. You recognise the guard sergeant Kesten, as well as Tarak and Maerrun however the fourth is a new face.

Game Master says...

Kesten speaks first, "Greetings to you explorers! Good to see you all again! We rode out to help you due to the Will-o'-wisp nearby. Adventurers, meet Zork." He points to an athletic young man with unkempt dark hair and beard, as well as dark coloured eyes. He wears a chain shirt and has a longsword, shield and longbow.

"Zork meet Theaton," He points to a half-elf man with blond hair and blue eyes. He also wears a chain shirt with longsword, shield and longbow.

"Shivas," He points to an elven woman with dark wavy hair and blue eyes who is dressed in scale mail with a scimitar and longbow, and wears holy symbols and icons dedicated to Sarenrae, goddess of the sun, compassion, and healing.

"And Jhod," He points to an older looking man with brown hair and moustache and a large bald patch. He wears leather armour that's very worn out with a longbow and hand axe, and a wooden holy symbol on twine around his neck. The symbol is a bow made of deer antlers with a loaded arrow, the symbol of Erastil, god of hunting and farming.

"But now is not time for full introductions. We must rush to the fort!"

As you all turn north, the orb reappears, blocking the direct path to the trading post. It burns brightly glowing a crimson red and visibly shaking as it emits high pitched pings.

The Second says...

After briefly acknowledging each person Zork shifts his attention to the new barrier, he immediately uses the flour he has to try and throw on it.

Out of Character: Can I use the rolls I gave you or do I need to make new ones?

Greetings to you Zork, Theaton says weakly. Yes lets not hesitate but get back to Oleg's. Theaton will ride towards the wisp but then move to go around it to see if it tries to move back in front of him.

The Second says...

Zork, seeing what Theaton is doing, hopes that the distraction will aide him in getting the flour on the wisp.

Out of Character: Nice to see you here too. Interesting to have a mixture of RP game leaders and players.

Game Master says...

As Theaton approaches, the wisp buzzes in anticipation, but when he circles around the wisp moves toward Theaton. Zork is unlucky that he threw his pouch of flour just before it moved, and misses. (Rolled a ranged touch attack for you, got a 3, sorry)

The wisp crackles with energy as it speaks, now floating beside Theaton! In a low, booming and otherworldly voice it threatens "Try and ignore THIS, mortal!"

Roll initiative!

Out of Character: Let's play it 2 rounds at a time since it's a dangerous encounter. If you're using a feat like Rapid Shot, please specify in your post, along with the all the modifiers in brackets (Written once or for each attack, whatever you prefer).

Please take a look at the Mounted Combat rules in the Combat chapter. I'll be trying to stick to them. Shivas' and Kesten's horses are combat trained; for the rest it is not known if they are. So please include one or two Ride checks with each post.
