Shivas casts her heal on Kesten again (Kesten 11 healing), and Jhod moves in to cast his Shield of Faith on him. Nobody manages to hit the wisp this turn. Kesten commands the two guards to aid others's stacks instead of failing to strike.
The wisp undoes the healing on Kesten with another shock, reopening healed burns (Kesten 11 damage).
Zork's good swing comes close, but something deflects his strike instead of hitting. Running low on defensive spells, Shivas resorts to healing Kesten (Kesten 6 healing), and Jhod aids his attacks with cover fire from his bow. Tarak aids Zork and Maerrun aids Theaton with their next attacks.
The wisp Fires a crackling bolt at Kesten again, reopening closed burns (11 damage).
Shivas heals (Kesten 6 healing) and Jhod aids Kesten. Theaton's sword connects as does Kesten's scimitar, in unison (Wisp 13 damage). The overwhelming force, knocks it to the ground, where it feebly squirms as its light dims.
It releases a shower of sparks as its glow turns yellow and begins to dim. It speaks as though mumbling, "No! How could mere mortals possibly do this?" Its light flashes bright yellow a few times, then finally dims. All that is left is an almost-invisible, transparent, spongy material vaguely shaped like an orb and measuring a foot across.
Everyone breathes heavily, tired after the fight. "What do we do with it now?" Asks Shivas, looking at Theaton, who at least knew what it was and a few of its abilities.
Out of Character: Thanks to Jhod's restorations, Theaton only has a -1 to his strength score, bringing it to 12, which doesn't change the modifier. With the Bless (+1), Assail (Flanking for +2) and Aid Another (+2), Theaton's 23 becomes a 28, which hits.
Where is the +1 damage from the sword from?
Out of Character: Is that question for me? Also I saw Zork was healed, how many points do I have now?
In Character: Zork is relieved. He goes over to what is left of the wisp and examines it at a distance moving it with the point of his sword to see if there is something still hidden about it.
It is very hard to see the small corpse of the wisp. Zork thinks it feels very malleable with his sword, as he rolls it over with no effect. No close details can be observed at an arm's length away.
Zork first asks some of the people who used magic if it would be safe to take a closer look, if they concur he stoops with his shield just in front of him to have a closer inspection.
Out of Character: Theaton;s sword is a master work sword giving it a +1 to hit and damage if I remember correctly.
Theaton puts his sword away and tells Zork it should be harmless now but to lift it with his shield and not his hands if possible. Maybe you can take it back to Oleg's with us and sell it the them.
Theaton then remounts his horse and once everyone is ready heads back to Oleg's.
The clerics concur. Jhod's eyes turn while and he says "There is a strong evil aura in the creature, but it is rapidly diminishing." Shivas with altered blue eyes adds, "There is weak magic upon it, but also dying away quickly."
The idea of selling the creature hadn't crossed Zork's mind but it could be a possibility but why would anyone want such a vile corpse? Zork, going on what was told to him carefully inspects the wisp without actually touching it.
The clerics confirm the auras of magic and evil have gone. Kesten, seeing Zork's hesitation, orders Maerrun to pick it up. He has difficulty finding the edge, then finally manages it. It looks like he holds nothing of substance and he suffers no ill effects.
"It's very light, barely 3 pounds," He says. "It feels soft, but it keeps it's structure. Feels awfully dry. And it seems to be softly pulsing. Is it still alive?" He recoils at the thought.
Out of Character: Zork is healed to maximum, 11 O think.
The masterwork only adds a +1 to attack rolls. An enchanted weapon increases both.
