Out of Character: initiative roll was 8 plus 4 is 12 Attack rolls 16 +6 - 2= 20, 8 + 6 - 2 = 12, 17 + 6 - 2 = 21, 14 + 6 -2 = 18.
Damage from arrows.5, 2, 4, 6
Theaton will attempt to step to the side as he pulls his bow and uses rapid shot to put a couple arrows into the boar.

Game Master says... As the boar gets within range, Theaton peppers it with arrows and steps to the side and back, one arrow failing to pierce its thick hide. Jhod prepares for combat with a Shield Other spell on Zork, who is suddenly in front.
Zork hits with his readied swing at the boar and it misses in return. Zork's follow up is also effective against the badly positioned creature dealing a massive blow. A normal boar would be near death after your attacks, this one is just staggered but its ferocity overcomes its mortal wounds.
With so many attacks from all sides, the boar yet again misses Zork.

The Second says... Zork continues his attack not relenting to the stubborn boar's ferocity.

Game Master says... Jhod blesses as Theaton and Zork miss. The boar is bleeding but continues to fight, striking a deep hit straight through Zork's armour into his chest (Zork 11 damage, Jhod 11 damage).
The only hit is one of Theaton's arrows and Jhod channels energy (All 9 healing). The boar strikes Zork again (Zork 5 damage, Jhod 4) and continues to bleed.
One lucky final arrow from Theaton ends the boar's life and Jhod channels again, twice (All 11 healing).
The scarred and bloody body looks like a 7 foot long pincushion, not only Theaton's arrows stick out of its body, it looks like it has seen many combats. Its distinctive grey bristles give you the feeling that you should remember something.
Out of Character: Jhod's shield other spell split the damage from the critical hit on Zork. You really should level up soon.
Without the Precise Shot feat, Theaton was taking the -4 penalty for shooting into melee, reducing the chance to hit.

The Second says... Zork sits down on the ground most tired and in pain from his wounds. Grateful for the healing he wonders if death gets too close to him.

Theaton will search his memory and ranger training about the grey bristles to see if he can remember anything. Knowledge nature roll: 13 +6 is 19.
After that he will see about field dressing the boar and finding a place close by to make camp to cook and smoke the meat for food for the night and the next few days.
