Theaton recalls there was a wanted poster in Oleg's mentioning a boar. This particularly tough specimen might be it. Source 1f
Oathday 18 Pharast
The morning starts off with a shocking surprise. As Theaton and Zork don their gear, you both realise the quivers are completely empty. Looking around feverishly you see two tall pine trees with a line of arrows suck in them like a ladder reaching 40 feet high!
There's one arrow per foot up the tree. It requires climbing checks to pull them down. Please state how high you're willing to go before it gets too dangerous for your character.
In Character: Zork watches on as Theaton climbs. He mumbles, those creatures don't get it no matter how much gold you give them!
Out of Character: When you click "Update character" Its one of the options. Anyway, I think I have it figured. This is how I upgraded. I took shield proficiency because I did not realize I had a penalty for it.
+2 on Survival
Favored class bonus +1 HP
BAB + 1
Feat: Shield Proficiency
Theaton manages to retrieve all the arrows on both trees and climb back down safely.
So will you be taking the boar head? Leaving any bribes behind? Continuing to explore?
Out of Character: Gain 267 XP each for defeating the boar.
I will reply in the Character thread.
If Theaton does not take the boar's head then Zork will. He will let it bleed for awhile before using the fishing net to hold it.
Zork refuses to leave any gold for the scheming forest children.
He waits on Theaton to see if he will continue to explore.
You take a winding path through the forest on this very windy day. The leaves rustle loudly overhead, but the ground is mostly protected, except in clearings.
As the day draws to a close you find the way further west blocked by a river. The river has a distinctive smell like rotten eggs, partly due to the light green algae floating on it. You spy to the north about half a hour's walk away the river slumps into a soggy mire. In the flattened area stand a pair of ruined stone buildings.
If you wish to get to the buildings you have to do a forced march, which requires one DC 10 constitution check to avoid non-lethal damage. Or you could camp where you are.
Zork does not carry the head since Theaton claimed it.
Looking at the current situation Zork looks at Theaton with a very present look, "We're not staying here right? The mell is unberable, let's try to make it for those buildings. What do you say?"
