Seeing the words on Zork's mount Mykael stifles a laugh, but says nothing and quickly looks away as he goes about helping to prepare a site for a camp.
The other members of the party would probably notice Mykael sort of jump as he sits around the camp fire as the voice surprises him. After the message is complete Mykael shakes his head slightly as though trying to dislodge the last remnants of the voice from his mind. He looks to the other members of the party and describes what has just taken place and the message that the voice gave. He shoots Zork an apologetic look when he tells of the plan for the cleric to retrieve the armor and sword.
"I really hope we aren't going to be dealing with werewolves" He says as he looks to the night sky to see what stage the moon is in "But given that the trapper we met earlier said that he'd heard wolves howling lately, I wouldn't be surprised. We need to remain vigilant."
After dinner Mykael goes about maintaining his equipment, as he always does; he sharpens his sword and the spikes on his gauntlet and shield, cleans his armor, etc. And his mind again wanders to the vision of the armor clad woman. He realizes that his thoughts often drift back to this image and the destiny that his father had laid out for him; that of becoming a Sword Lord, has faded ever since he received the vision. Where once, when imagining his future, Mykael saw himself standing proudly among the other Sword Lords, now Mykael tends to imagine himself clad in plate mail armor, holding a shield and sword bearing the symbol of Iomedae; in a combat stance he prepares to meet some demonic foe as the symbol on his sword burns brightly against the surrounding darkness.
The moon is past the 3/4 phase, leaving 2 or 3 days until it is full. As Mykael stares at the silvery orb, it occurs to him that the full moon in the month of Desnus in also Remembrance Moon, an Iomedaean holiday to honour those fallen in the Shining Crusade almost 900 years ago. They were the brave soldiers of Taldor who stood and fell against Tar Baphon's undead army finally defeating him in 3827 AR. The rest is history.
All eyes are doubly awake on watch, but the night passes peacefully this time. The only interesting thing to occur is a distant, faint howling occurring every hour or so.

As the sun rises and all get up to see that your horses have been replaced with cows! They are white with black spots and sporting short horns. One of them even has the words 'Stoopid Biggins' on its rump. They look toward the party and you all definitely hear them moo.
The fey have their laugh high above and a few seconds later the illusion fades to reveal your horses, all with horns attached to their heads and your waterskins have been stolen and tied to the horse's underside to look like udders. But whose waterskin is whose?
Out of Character: If you continue, the day's exploration in the grasslands to the west will be uneventful, so you can post actions at camp, or go elsewhere if you do not want to explore.

Theaton smiles at the prank as he retrieves the water skins from his horse and then removes the horns. Theaton will prepare for another night and then another day of further exploration. "We just need to be on our toes to make sure that we do not have any surprises." Theaton will have the wolf scout out a bit more to make sure there is nothing close by that we will know about.
Mykael looks to the horses, sighs a then lets out a slight chuckle as he walks over and begins removing the horns and the water skin from his horse. He pats and pets Patoot on the neck "You'd make a fine cow, Patoot" He smiles then uncorks the water skin, sniffs the contents, and pours just a little bit out onto the ground to see if the skin does indeed contain water or if the water has been replaced with something else.
"Don't suppose you guys were kind enough to replace my water with some ale?" He calls out to the trees where the sound of laughter originated "Seems to be two of you; don't know your names so imma call you Troublesome and Irksome unless you care to tell me your names of course...maybe Trouble and Irk for short."
After completing another quick inventory of his equipment, Mykael mounts up and prepares to move out to continue exploring.

Archival nods at Mykael's message. "It's good the Church of Iomedae is sending a cleric. If the dream is a portent of Armageddon or werewolves, they will prove invaluable. We should take the time to warn Jhod. I would hate for something to happen to him with him so far from civilization. One more mouth to spread the word can only help raise awareness."

Archival prepares to cast Detect Magic, but drops his hands and chuckles as his hunch is proven correct. While the others attempt to sort out which gear is theirs, Archival simply looks for his Arcane Mark, which he placed on all of his and Caelum's gear back in Nivakta's Crossing.
"After sleeping on it, I am sure we should warn Jhod to be attentive and protect himself appropriately at night; at least until we meet with the other cleric being sent. Speaking with Jhod might even give us some help in deducing the meaning of that dream we all shared too. Let us ride that way before we continue our search. The lands will always be here, but the people might not." With that, Archival mounts up and heads toward Jhod's temple.

Zork was about to curse the most heinous cursing ever know to man when he saw the cows but as the illusion dissipates and he gets a sense of what is happening he sighs frustrated at the fey. After collecting the water skins he knows are his he says,
"Guys why do I have the feeling that wolves might see us dead in a day or so? We should head for some place that wolves do not go so we can have at least the advantage of not being open prey".
He checks all his things as well as his horse to make sure all is in good order before following the party.
Archival sees that the waterskin with his arcane mark was actually attached to the underside of Theaton's horse. Who knows how the other three were mixed up? But this is as unhygienic as it gets, Mykael sees the liquid is just water and not one of many possible foul liquids.
Out of Character: From what I can tell, Theaton an Mykael wish to get the exploring job done, Archival wants to go to Jhod's temple and Zork wants to find a defensible area.
I am all for splitting the party and don't punish people for it since it's a legitimate strategy, but can be risky.
For context, the temple is about 40 miles away through the known river crossing, but only 25 miles in a straight line. If the old map is anything to go by, the river should have its source or end just a few miles from your campsite, but who knows if it's moved over the centuries.
Map updated with a legend!
"Why can we not look for a place that will be defensible as we travel and explore. Wolves may come in a couple days and we may have a good defensible place by then and still be able to explore some more. Maybe find something that could assist us with all that is happening too."
