I agree with Getrich, its just like alcohol and cigarettes… no matter how much you raise it by people still buy it with only a few here and there curtailing their habit.
Rather than taxing sweets to attempt reduce demand, try lowering costs on healthy alternatives. As long as junk food is cheaper than healthy options, there will be more demand, but raising prices is not a solution - it'll just make people poorer.
