QUOTE A man accused of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman at gunpoint in New Plymouth on New Year's Day has been remanded in custody. The 20-year-old local man appeared in New Plymouth District Court this morning on sexual violation, abduction, and firearms charges. He was arrested yesterday after police searched his home. Detective Sergeant Debra Gower said a variety of items were seized in the search, including an imitation hand gun. The man is alleged to have sexually assaulted the woman at gunpoint near the Fitzroy Golf Club in the early hours of January 1. Source 1l
