Trinidad Another Child Locked In Car

Child rescued from locked car

The police officers were forced to break the glass of the black Toyota Corolla to get the child out and the weeping young boy clung to a female police officer who gave him a bottle of water. The older man, of Chinese descent, did not speak much English but challenged the arresting police officer, asking what he was being arrested for. Ref. Source 5

What is ridiculous about this is the attitude of the man when he got to the car. Instead of being concerned about the child he was more worried over the police smashing his window.

Trinidad Another Child Locked In Car Caribbean / Tobago & Trinidad

I am appallled to learn that Trinis are starting to leave their children in the car locked up while they run errands! We need to remember that babies are miniature human beings too! As adults we are suppose to guide and protect them since they are unable to do so themselves. In USA, if someone leaves their baby in the car, the person is charged and may face a jail sentence. Why can't we do that here? I heard a news report recently which indicated that a judge who took away a woman's baby because she left it locked in a car, allowed the mother, SUPERVISED visits for her to see HER OWN BABY! These are the stringent measures we need to put in place in this Third World country. Many people may consider this to be cruel but we need to implement a very harsh penalty that will force people to remember not to even think about leaving their baby or child, locked up in a car for hours. These days, you have to tell people everything!

People should go to jail for that kind of action, period. But again, we have a society who thinks so differently. They believe this sort of negligence is just an "Accident" Can happen to anyone and they don't believe the adults should go to jail for that. Imagine that.
