As you descent down the stairs, water droplets drop from your wet clothing, and the cold air here makes things even more uncomfortable. On either side of the staircase there are metal plates -like bowls- that emit a light blue magical light.
At the end of the staircase is a closed stone door that reads:
Only those willing to sacrifice in order to rule, and those willing to serve in order to succeed are to pass from this door.
The door, once opened, reveals a perfectly square room, made out of stone, with a white marble door on the west, north and east side. Each bears carvings of a different the ancient Greek hero. This room is lit by the same light sources as the staircase, and so the place has a cold light-blue light about it.
The west portrays Heracles, who grew up to become the hero who beat the odds time and again, performed amazing, often helpful tasks, and yet was full of human foibles, even to the point of having to expiate the horrible crime of murdering his own children, and ending his own life in madness.
The northern door shows Achilles, son of a nymph, who was the Greek's best warrior in the Trojan War. When he fought in the Trojan War he was nearly unbeatable, until the gods guided the hand of Paris to shoot an arrow into Achilles' heel -his only mortal part.
The eastern, and final door, depicts Odysseus. Craftier by far than any other hero, but also a very capable warrior. Odysseus was the one who came up with the idea of the Trojan Horse. He was also one of the few Greeks to reach his homeland of Ithaca, after 10 years of war and 10 years of struggles and troubles at sea. He was a descendant of Hermes, god of thieves.
Above each door, there is a word written, to complete a sentence:
Choose - Your - Fate.
Looking at the doors, Gordon is somehow tempted to open the door which represents Achilles. He says to Cyrvil while pointing at it "I think we should open the northern door over there, don't you think?".

Cyrvil takes a look on the other doors while have her hands crossed trying to warm her up. And after a two seconds of thought she looks Gordon and replies with a simple *nod*.

As you approach, the door simply slowly slides open, and dust fills the air. Once the dust dissipates, the other 3 doors and the writings have disappeared. Now, on the threshold of the open door of Achilles stands a man dressed for combat, with a spear and shield at hand. His skin is white as the snow, and his eyes have no pupils, instead they bear a light blue color. He is twice as tall as a normal human being, and stares you both down for a second. He then says with a booming voice:
"You foolish mortals are nothing but defilers. The holy sanctum of mine is not a path that a mortal can hope to enter and survive. Meet thy end!"
His appearance seems to resemble Achilles, the legendary immortal hero-warrior of Hellas in the Trojan War.
Please roll for initiative and describe your first action, even if that isn't an aggressive one, then roll the appropriate dice (If any). Anyone trained in Knowledge (Arcana) or Knowledge (History) may make a check now.
Cyrvil takes a step back getting in a defensive position ready to dodge any incoming threat (Total Defense). Trembling while looks at him but serious trying to stay strong she says "What if we proof thee that we art worthy for thy trial?"

"That's impossible. I cannot be slain!"
As he says that he charges forward against Gordon, and attempting to hit him with his mighty spear.
Thankfully Gordon stops the hit, but was unable to redirect it, because of its great mass; the spear penetrated the shield and scratched his hand for 1 point of non-lethal damage.
The Guardian is now anticipating the heroes' attacks!
Gordon will try to attack Achilles with his spear and then he will go with his sword. He first takes a step forward as he quickly starts to attack. He says "You shall not stop us!".

Out of Character:: To make the attack, roll for a ranged attack, using the attack bonus shown as "Ranged" In your character sheet, and then also roll for damage, even if you are not sure that you hit.
