A grapple check is: 1d20 + Base Attack Bonus (BAB) + Strength Modifier + Your special bonuses (=feats, spells, etc.)
Feyra tumbles and reaches the headdress, despite feeling dizzy. As she reaches her hand out to the Nemes Headdress, she feels the mummified hand of the Royal Mummy grasping her neck, and pulling her up in a chokehold.
Feyra holds the headdress with one hand, but barely so. The sheer strength of the mummy is terrifying, and her dizziness is only getting worse by the second. Can she hold the Headdress without dropping it? Only a successful fortitude save (DC 14) can allow her to do so!
Charles is currently suffering. He has almost lost control. Yet his sword is still at his hand, which he can use to attack. He can also attempt to escape the grapple. Which is his preferred choice?
(Because of late posting) Basmet is stunned by the events she was unprepared for, and stands glaring at her companions. They, in return, can only hope she snaps out soon enough, perhaps rescuing them from their dire situation!
Basmet feels hopeless, her spells depleted, her weapons lying in the other room. She looks at her companions held by the mummy. Her focus moves to the headdress. She looks back at the mummy whose hands are both occupied, walks up to Feyra, and readies to catch and don the nemes if it is dropped.
Feyra attempts to escape the mummy's hand dispite her condition as she is threaten with her life. Her vision starts to get more and more cloudy but she sets other priorities.
If she successfully escapes the mummy's hand, she takes 5-foot step backwards and tries to say.
"Charles! *Cough* H-Help him! H-He is g-gonna..."*Catches Breath*
Fortitude Save Check: 14+1 = 15
Escape Artists Check: 16+9 = 25
Grapple Check: 12 - (12+2+3=17)
Charles makes an attempt escape the mummy's attack and if he has the chance, he will use it to counter-attack back by using his Khopesh. He will aim for the head or the neck area to see if the mummy can lose control of itself.
Attack Roll: 8 - (8+5=13).
Damage roll: 6 - (6+3=9) Critical: 4 - (4+3=7).
Charles manages neither to escape nor to attack. I need a new fortitude save from Charles.
Basmet safely catches Feyra as she escapes the clutches of the Undead.
As a response, the Royal Mummy itself turns to face the two women. His stare spells death itself, as two black rays are shot. Basmet was unable to dodge, whilst Feyra manages to maneuver quickly enough, and move out of the way.
Basmet has to make a will saving throw to half the damage (DC 13). The full damage is 14 negative energy damage.
Feyra is now free to act as she's able to, but her state is getting worse. Unless she makes a fortitude save (DC 15), she'll be nauseated in the next round!
Will save: 3+4 = 7
Basmet is hit by the ray as her eyes go wide and she crumples to the ground, dead.
Out of Character: I don't think she healed the 4 damage from the sword fight on page 18.
Feyra finds difficulty to think the wisest choice as not only she is badly wounded but she is also dizzy. Out of nowhere, she throws up as she tries to catch her breath. She tries to move to help her comrades but she finds it impossible, like her body is heavier than she can handle.
A single piece of memory pierce into her head as she looks at the headdress making the final decision to wear it and she wears it on, over her headband as she slowly takes some steps back away from the mummy.
Specific Action : 5-Foot step Backwards
Fortitude Save Check: 7+1 = 8
Fortitude save check: 12 - (12+3=15)
Charles once again, tries to make an attempt escape the mummy's attack and look for a chance to counter-attack back by aiming the head or neck of the mummy.
