Comments: Three months ago, when I received the results from my psychiatric evaluation, I was marked as having "splinter skills." I had never heard the term before, so I decided to research it online today. I found all this information on savantism! That was really exciting. I have high-functioning autism. I can play music by ear, even on an instrument I have never played before. I have formal training in piano and violin. I remember picking up a harp when I was little and playing many tunes I knew. I had never played a harp before, but anyone walking by would think I did.
