Wow, she is so tiny! She looks very happy and is nice to know she is treated well and taking care of.

Standing at 23 inches tall - and weighing in at just 11 pounds - Jyoti Amge is no ordinary teenager. In fact, the 14-year-old is the world's smallest girl, according to the Indian Book of Records. Amge has a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia, which affects an estimated one out of every 25,000 births and occurs in all races. But, her tiny size hasn't hampered her spirit one bit. The teenager told Britain's Sunday Mirror that she enjoys the celebrity status her height has brought her. "I am proud of being small. I love the attention I get," she told the paper. "I'm just the same as other people. I eat like you, dream like you. I don't feel any different." |
These unusual people seem to come from India a lot, I wonder if it is just because the chance is higher because of the massive population or if it is nutritional defects? Either way she looks like a toddler, I'm sure she must be mistaken for such at times.
I went to school for a time with a girl who was short. SHe had to sit in a special desk designed for her smallness. I think she was interesting to talk to but she was just like one of the other girls. Only difference was her size. I hope this gal keeps on with her nice attitude on like
The range of possibilities of the human genome never ceases to amaze me. At 14, though she might gain an inch or two, yet. That will probably still make her the smallest female in the world. She does have the advantage of her school mates not making fun of her. Probably because her personality makes up for her stature. Best of luck in everything she attempts to this amazing girl!
