Colorado Planned Parenthood Shootings

One police officer was killed during the shooting at the Planned Parenthood facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado, according to the Colorado Fraternal Order of Police.

Planned Parenthood officials believe all staff and patients from their clinic are accounted for, said said Vicki Cowart, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains.

"We're still reaching out to confirm individuals, how they are. I believe no one of our staff was severely injured. I also believe at this time that none of our patients were injured," she told CNN.

Robert Lewis Dear, who is accused of killing three people at a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood clinic, interrupted a court hearing with at least 17 outbursts.

"I am guilty. There is no trial. I am a warrior for the babies," Dear said. In a separate outburst, Dear said, "Protect the babies."

District Attorney Dan May said 179 felony charges have been filed against Dear. Ref. CNN

A judge issued the ruling Wednesday for Robert Dear Jr., who admitted to killing three people at a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood clinic last fall. Dear, who yelled "Filthy animal" at the judge as he was escorted from the courtroom Wednesday, told police he attacked the clinic because he was "Upset with them performing abortions and the selling of baby parts," court records show.
