Salary Disclosure?
Earlier this week, the out-going Italian government posted every single citizen's tax information online, available for all to see. The data included the earnings of media mogul Silvio Berlusconi, who raked in $435 million last year with $18.6 million of that going to taxes. Though many Italians were outraged by the public disclosure of their salaries, the volume of inquiring minds logging on to the site caused it to crash. Are Americans similarly abashed at talking about their salaries, or is that taboo a thing of the past?
