Christ's Children

Did Christ have children while in mortality? What happened to them? Why aren't there records about them, especially during the time of the Apostles in the New Testament. Was it possible that they were kept 'nameless' to prevent worship or pride?

I will use a couple of scriptures that may give some light about the fact that Jesus may have been a father. This particularly scripture was used by Orson Hyde as a proof:

"Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put [him] to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. "
(Isaiah 53:10)

He also remarked: "I shall say here, that before the Savior died, he looked upon his own natural children, as we look upon ours; he saw his seed, and immediately afterwards he was cut off from the earth; but who shall declare his generation?" But, what became of the natural offspring of the Son of God?
They had no father to hold them in honorable remembrance; they passed into the shades of obscurity, never to be exposed to mortal eye as the seed of the blessed one. For no doubt had they been exposed to the eye of the world, those infants might have shared the same fate as the children of Jerusalem in the days of Herod, when all the children were ordered to be slain under such an age, with the hopes of slaying the infant Savior. They might have suffered by the hand of the assassin, as the sons of many kings have done who were heirs apparent to the thrones of their fathers."

I am very sure that Jesus had children while in mortality. I have read, several times, that Joseph Smith was a descendent of Jesus Christ. I also believe the basic information that the Grail stories refer to the protection of His bloodline.

As for why there is no information? It would be a major embarassment for the Catholic Church, down through the ages, to have had ANY records of His marriage and progeny. So, any such records would have been destroyed.

I hate to break it to you Nighthawk, but Joseph Smith could not of been a direct or even a physical descendant of Jesus Christ. Has you may know Jesus Christ is from the tribe of Judah, While Brigham Young declared in Discourses of Brigham Young that Joseph Smith was a pure Ephraimite.

The Catholic church has a oral if not written history that after the death of Jesus, Mary Magdillen spent many times traveling between Jerusalem and France with children. Remember many believe that Mary was the wife of Jesus .

You might want to reread what I wrote. I said that I have read statements by early leaders that Joseph Smith was a descendant of Jesus Christ. I make absolutely no judgements on the subject.

As for the Catholic church, it is the most vehement critic of the possibility that Jesus was married. The thought that there might have been children from such a marriage is even worse.

It is possible that Jesus had children. But I I do not think that there is any proof of them. I think Orson Hyde is really stretching that meaning. I really do not think Isaiah is talking about his literal seed, but rather us his children or more specifically the new Israel or the church. There are just o many references in scripture that called us his seed. But you have to love Orson for tying. smile.gif
Jesus' nephew were very predominate early Christian missionaries who even heard by the Roman Emperor. They were very popular and strong in the early church along with Jesus' brothers and sisters. But until we see find hard evidence in manuscripts from primary sources I would have to say that it is probable, but we really do not know.

Why were those records kept away about the children of Christ? And if he did have children who is his wife? To me this subject is not really important to learn about for man can not comprehend what the lord can.
