LEDs can provide a viable lighting alternative

Alternative Lighting Leds

While I like the LED lights I am not sure if I will switch over to them in my home for awhile yet. I am sure they will come down in price and make it more affordable to the average homes income.

The bulbs are not even in Canada yet and the strip led lights are way to expensive to validate using other then in heat sensitive areas.

One spot I would strongly recommend changing them is in the case of metal halide under counter lights. Big reason here is the people leave them on for a great amount of time and they cause huge amounts of heat. I have seen many times where they actually are scorching the cabinet materials behind the light fixtures. So this is a be ware if you have them and check on them occasionally.

I am unsure of the lighting quality for detail work but might be ok for general task lighting.
