White House: Economy has 'vastly improved' under Obama
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney came out with quite a claim yesterday when he boldly declared, "Well, two things remain uncontestably true. The economy is vastly improved from what it was when Barack Obama was sworn into office as president..." If by vastly improved he means increase unemployment by well over 1% and make energy prices skyrocket - then he's 100% correct. Yeah, he actually said that Ref. Source 1

The most tweeted-about beard in the Obama White House left the way it came in - with wisecracks. "Here I am, the old me," a clean-shaven White House spokesman Jay Carney said at the start of his daily briefing with reporters on Friday. His boss, President Barack Obama, razzed him about it, as did any number of other White House officials.

Jay Carney is stepping down as White House press secretary, President Barack Obama announced today. Carney said he'd leave in mid June.
He is Obama's second press secretary. "It's been an amazing experience," Carney said from the White House briefing room. Obama said that Carney deputy Josh Earnest will step into the role. Ref. CNN
