Disaster Erebus

Most people try to help in a disaster situation to assist those who need help they are not looking for recognization for a job well done. The thanks they get from those involved are enough. IF they get a medal for it then all the better. But to have a person go out and publicly demand a medal or to be recognized makes the rest of us look like sniveling little brats who want a new toy.
