China Future
Given the her place in the world, what is China going to be like in a decade or even a half century from now? Does the Future look good or bleak for China?
China has a great future ahead of it but there are also some potential trouble spots that could dim this somewhat or even derail it completely. First, China has a tremendous disparity between the number of men and women. This is due to the one child policy that China adopted and has since ended. Parents were finding out they were having a female and aborting it so they could try until they had a male. That left a whole generation where there are a large number of more males than females… and no prospect for these males to get married and raise a family. There is a chance about 24 million males won't be able to find a bride by 2020... That less than 2 1/2 years from now.
Next, China is in competition with all of its eastern and southern neighbors for access to the South China Sea. That could easily lead to a war that could draw the US in. Although powerful, China is not strong enough to beat all of its neighbors at once with US support. This could easily lead to a situation where china is devastated by US attacks.
Last, China needs to continue to grow economically or her people, especially those potential unmarried males, will start to rebel against the system. If that happens the current form of government could fall quickly and China could easily fragment. The danger here is that in her death throes she could start a war almost anywhere as a last gasp measure to stay together.
