I doubt that the United Nations could do anything about the leaders of this nations since they are all scattered about. They are lead it seems by military generals who are like warlords in their own little areas. I feel bad for the people not having any warnings that this storm was coming down upon them.

Unfortunately that is the problem they are not accountable to anything but their own whims in their ruling. I get some ease knowing gin the end he will suffer 1000 times worse then any of the victims did in the storm.

Name: Wayned

Comments: Just a little while ago they said its now 100,000 dead and the government is hiding the bodies, but who knows just how many have actually died. By the time help is ALLOWED there will be many many more dead from starvation and disease, so unless the UN goes in there will be a great devastation there. Could this be another way the government is using to de-populate the country?

If the warlords/Generals are bent on depopulizing the country this is a good start. To have them hide bodies so that it does not look as bad is interesting in the fact they need the support of the people to keep them in power. If they have fewer people a stronger general will take their lands from them. I feel sorry for the suffering these people are going through.

I think they let food in just for themselves. THey are so selfish as to not let aid get to their people. I do not blame the UN for stopping the flights.

There are many conflicting reports about this situation but I find it strange that anyne would stop food and help from coming in. They won't issue visas to journalists, fine, but doctors, and aide workers? The government there has a lot to answer to.

It seems like they will be allowing one US plane in with supplies to land, but that is about it. Sounds to me that one plane cannot do much for thousands that are in dire need, but we can see it as - the army is looking to get all the goods from this plane for themselves.
