12-year-old boy calls police after stabbing 9-year-old boy to death in park

I do not have words to describe this. How terrifying that a child would call 911 and very calmly state that he stabbed someone to death. My prayers and heart goes towards both families at this very difficult time.

Witness Glen Stacy, who lives near the park in Kentwood, spoke about his shock when the 12-year-old boy asked to use his phone.
However, rather than calling his mother he called 911 and told police that he stabbed the younger boy.
Stacy said that 12-year-old Jamarion Lawhorn, approached him and asked to use his cell phone. He said that Lawhorn called 911 and very calmly told the dispatcher that he stabbed someone.
It was about 6:00 p.m., when 9-year-old Michael Conner Verkerke went to the park near his home, where he was stabbed by Lawhorn.
After being stabbed, Verkerke ran to his home and collapsed on the porch. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Source 1

Obviously there were issues that nobody seem to have seen it or perhaps they did and he was being treated for it, whatever it is, its a huge tragedy for everyone involved.
