Wow you have to think that this toll is going to go up even more. I am glad they ruled the dam safe. That would have made matters even worse. I read last time a major earthquake struck 250,000 lost their lives. You would think they would build better homes to withstand these strong quakes.

200 Earthquake Relief Workers Buried by Mudslide in China

China's state-run Xinhua News Agency says more than 200
relief workers have been buried by a mudslide in Sichuan
province.

The Chinese government has declared a three-day period of
mourning for the May 12 quake. It has estimated that as many
as 50,000 people died as a result of the earthquake.

It saddens me to think that these 200 rescue workers died--it adds to the tremendous loss of the original victims.

I am sure that when it all said and done there is going to be a lot more deaths reported over there. I hope those who have been left homeless can get their lives back in order and move forward to getting a new place and new life going.

When things like this happens it shows all the big super powers that they are just as susceptible to the elements as everyone else. Mother Nature, the biggest baddest super power there is!

Yes another sign of the times. People are down and beat so others will try anything to make a quick profit on those suffering. I hope the chinese government deals with some of these profiteers harshly.
