You Am I (Hover)
A man trying to get away from it all finds both love and conflict in the woods in this offbeat drama from Lithuania. Baron (Andrius Bialobzeskis) is an architect who has grown tired of life in the city and wants a respite from modern life. Baron moves to a heavy wooded wilderness area and builds a small house at the top of a tall tree. Baron spends his nights peacefully sleeping in his new home and his days exploring the wilds, where one day he happens upon a strange but beautiful woman (Martynas Musanja) who also lives in the forest. As the woman shares her offbeat philosophy with Baron, he becomes increasingly infatuated with her, but their idyll is compromised when a handful of people arrive from the city. One of the visitors, Dominyka (Jurga Jutaite), falls for the woman, and soon Baron has a rival for her affections. Writer and director Kristijonas Vildziunas based You Am I in part on episodes from his own dreams; the film was screened as an official entry at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival.
