Humility vs Weakness - Mormon View

Last night as I was reading my scriptures I was thinking what's the difference between being humble and being weak? Where is the line crossed? (If they're crossed at all). Often times I hear someone speaking softly and people label them automatically as humble or someone who is being taken advantage of. What are really the characteristics of a humble person?

The easiest definition for me is that when you are humble you allow others to teach you and you are open to the fact that you may be wrong. Being weak is when you don't have the courage to do whatever it needs to be done. Talking soft, etc and being humble aren't mutually inclusive.

I think there is a thread somewhere here where it talks about false humility. For me being weak is when you allow others to treat you like a dog and your reply is that G-d will take of care it. For me that's ridiculous.
