Colt Trooper

For what was specific purpose was the Colt Trooper (US - Revolver - .357 Magnum) made? How do you measure the Colt Trooper with other types of guns?

Review Gun Trooper Colt

Name: Mercury
Country:

Title: Purpose

Comments: Hi, it would seem the purpose is fairly plain from the name, the trooper was designed with law enforcement in mind. Right alongside weapons like the S&W Highway Patrol (which [By The Way] is a beautiful piece of equipment if ever I've handled one).

I have recently done some work on a pre-MkIII Trooper (that would be a '52 - '69 model which is easy to identify by the lack of a top-block or extractor pin protector) and I came across issues with the lock-up that make me very weary of firing the weapon, particularly in double action. The hammer falls before the cylinder is fully rotated and I'm curious as to whether or not this major design flaw has been an issue for anyone else.
