Sometimes a special needs child may need to be restrained when they become a danger to themselves or others. This phase of their aggression is known as "Meltdown" Or as I like to call it: "The Hulk Moment". Did you know in the USA special schools are allowed to lock children in padded sells or even use electric treatment legally to get children to comply:

I'm surprised that a school can legally shock a student. In the one particular clip the guy looks like he was just sitting there - was that really necessary?

Doesn't medication help to make these children control themselves or at least comply with whatever rules so these drastic measures don't have to exist?

Medication is an option but sometimes those meds have serious side effects that might be worst than being restrained. Plus meds only work for certain cases. If its a learning environment you don't want someone so drugged that they can't learn because they're like a zombie.
