Agriculture is quite popular in Latvia but if you want to count people and compare that to all citizens than it would be about 10 - 15 % (I am not sure about that). If you drive out of the city you can see many fields with potatos and corn. Many have gave up agriculture as a profession because it does not pay off if you have small fields of land and because you do not get any stabile income of course you earn something but you do not know how exactly.
