Qatar has agreed to temporarily extend the existing travel ban for the five senior Taliban leaders who are living in Qatar, a senior U.S. Official confirms to CNN's Global Affairs Correspondent Elise Labott.

The ban will stay in place while discussions between the U.S., Qatar and Afghanistan continue for a long term solution. The five will still not be able to travel and will be subject to monitoring, the official said. Ref. CNN

Yeah, this is one of the places in the Middle East that the US has expended vast resources. We house the forward elements of Central Command there, which is a four star level command. We definitely don't want to lose this critical country.
