TWO hundred years ago, an entire village of 1500 people vanished overnight. Nobody saw them leave or knows what happened to them, but they left a deadly curse behind.

Just why the residents left remains a mystery. Legend has it that Salim Singh, the minister of the state of Jaisalmer, fell in love with a beautiful girl upon visiting the village and wanted to marry her, threatening the locals if this was denied. Ref. Source 4

Interesting story. Since this was 200 years ago it could be there there was a mass killing or movement of the people done secretly by one of the Maharaj's or maybe they had a religious reason.
