In my teen years I loved to go to Maracas Beach. I do not have that luxury now, but given the amount of crime that is happening there I do not see myself as missing anything. Recently, the beach vendors have been complaining that they are constantly being robbed by bandits. TV6 reported that yesterday evening there were shots fired and beach goers were running for safety when some people got into an argument.

Comments: It looks like everything is falling apart here including the washing facilities at Maracas bay .According a report a roof slab from the washing facility fell off and almost causing injury to a tourist. I was under the impression that a large sum of dollars were allocated for improvements to be undertaken at the Maracas beach facility. I wonder what has gone wrong and were is the allocated money and its interest?. Perhaps we need another probe into this matter.

I'm so glad they are finally tackling those beach chair gangs that crowd the beach with their umbrellas and chairs so you can't use any part of the beach without paying them.
