Accidents happen, even to policemen. As Kntoran said, if she was wearing dark clothes he may not have seen her. Other articles stated that the officer WAS responding to a call, so he was in a bit of a hurry. What really bothers me about this incident is the reports of violence against the police. What is wrong with people? It's not like the officer aimed for the girl. The authorities have done what is necessary, they "suspended" the officer and their Internal Affairs is investigating the incident. The scene may have been compromised by the residents who began throwing BRICKS. That's insane. The stupidity of large groups of angry people never fails to amaze me.

My son has a t-shirt that reads "never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups" This incident reminds me of that shirt. People are reacting to a death and before anyone can find out what happened and why it happened the people in the area turned judge and jury. They convicted the police of murder and were seeking revenge. I bet none of them had a clue of what actually happened
