Are You A Realist?

Are You A Realist?

As I age, together with the stresses of bring up special needs children, I can see that my whole outlook in life is also changing. Thus far I can describe myself as a Minimalist and a Realist.

The Urban Dictionary describes being a Realist as:

international QUOTE
Realists have a firm grip on reality and can see things for what they are, not what they are told they are. Realists have their own views and do not fall victim to propaganda, misconception, or titles!

Do you see yourself as a Realist or do you tend to follow the crowd?

Realist You Are

I am often told I like to argue and that my thoughts are in left field. I have an inherent distrust of most media statement and always look for the hidden objective. I believe every one needs to know how to grow hunt and cook so maybe I tend toward a realist or perhaps it is combine with being paranoid.

Are You A Realist? Health & Special Psychology

Being paranoid means you operate based on fear. Being a realist means you want the facts / research before simply accepting what is told you.

Realist You Are

I want to believe that I am a realist. I do research things I read about, these days. I used to believe everything, as I was quite gullible. Sometimes, I wonder if I could revert to being that way again. It would be less time-consuming! wink.gif I am very cynical about what we read on the internet and what I see on commercialised television.

It does take time to research everything but keep in mind it does not have to be done right away. Most times propaganda of any type will tell you need this or that now, that's because they know the longer you think about it the more you will focus away from whatever it is they are trying to 'sell' you. When this situation occurs just remember you are the one in control of your decisions and conclusions as well as your timing.

People do not realize how business and marketing has taken over the planet - everywhere you look is an ad either from religion, politicians, products or services - they each want a piece of your time and money now, they don't want you to think about it they simply want you to give them it (Your time and your money).

Yes, I agree JB. Its seems sometimes. I get my news from varied sources, so it doesn't take too much time to 'research'. I guess, it depends on what they're trying to sell you. News is something we need to see all sides too, not just the side 'they' think is necessary. However, something like the latest craze or fad can be looked at over time. *smile*

Are You Realist

Keep in mind that realists tend to have few friends. People enjoy being in trends, fads and following some tradition without someone telling them that its not real. People love the illusion.
