Had Children With Canadian Man

Comments: Question for all of you: I have 2 children with a Canadian man, we are not married (and will not be married) I am a US citizen. Is it worth the cost to have my children ( Girls ages 2 &4) file paperwork for "official" Canadian residency? Do they need to? It looks expensive. Will they have to do this in the future for college if they want to attend there? What other benefits/risks are there for dual Canadian/US?

Dual citizenship does have benefits as later in life they can chose where they wish to be. Boarder crossing will be easier not sure if passport would be required so there is a savings also.
