It is still true today that the most intelligent people usually have the hardest times in school. Schools are designed to teach the masses and they therefore run programs aimed at the majority. Those who are of the greatest intelligence often just don't fit in. They are not motivated the same way an "average" student is. Einstein suffered from this as well.

It also proves that some methods used in schools are not always efficient for all children, like in the case of Einstein. If he had a very hard time at school with Math he could have been perfectly been turn off of it but it is obvious it was his determination what got him there.

"It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity."

Albert Einstein was a man way ahead of his time not only in academics but also in wisdom. He saw where all these new discoveries was taking man and I wonder if in some ways he didn't have regrets making it known.
