Alskann Introduction

I joined this forum at the invitation from a good friend. I live in Alaska and work in the mental health field. I am LDS and enjoy a good discussion. We are soon to be empty nesters (whatever that means since the house is often full of grandkids ) Our youngest is getting his mission "papers" ready to turn in and should receive his call and be heading to the MTC by the end of summer. He just completed winter semester @ BYU and is planning on returning to complete his education after his mission. We have 6 other children. 3 are married with a 4th getting married this summer. We have 4 grandchildren with 2 more due this summer. I have an international/multicultural family with family living around the world. My current callings are VT, RS teacher and ward activity chair. I think the craziest thing I have done in recent memory was to agree to sub for Gospel Doctrine class the same day I was teaching a RS lesson. (I was asked to sub Primary that same day, but could not figure out how to be in two places at once and so I had to decline.) But we all survived and it was fun in hindsight. I seem to have a knack for stepping outside of my comfort zone. Probably because I love the personal growth that comes from it. I love learning and gathering knowledge. I suppose that is why I went back to grad school after being at home raising my family for years. I think this is more than I have talked about myself in quite a long time. I would rather talk about something more interesting. I enjoy critical thinking and love discussing Gospel topics. (I also enjoy RPG's but seldom seem to find the time.) So anyway, we'll see how this goes. Life has it's ups and downs, but it's all good.

If you like LDS Based Games then you may also be interested in playing: Nephi RPG where you can 'Journey to the Promised Land' or Book of Mormon Battles and see if you really know a lot about the Book of Mormon.

So glad you came! I got your email that mentioned you have been playing the Nephi RPG--I love that! I am on Chapter 7 and will probably work on it this week again. I am glad you found something fun!

For the serious thinker in you--! There is a lot of great threads here. How I do it is to click on HOT TOPICS and check to see what is new and interesting. Then depending on my mood or WHY I actually came (to study something or to play) I go to the LDS section and go through the threads there. I know you will find some great stuff there and we would love to hear your comments.

It is so cool to have someone I KNOW personally here that has the chance to meet some really great people online that I have been blessed to meet.

You do not need to get your percentage up to participate in the RPGs because you are an Upgraded Member. Feel free to participate in all the RPGs you like.

You also mentioned your children are RPGers... if they are 16+ then feel free to invite them aboard to participate as well.
