Computer glitch halts bullet trains in Japan
Local Japanese News In English
A computer glitch halted Japan's bullet train lines early Monday in northern and central regions, the operator said, with cancellations and delays affecting more than 50,000 passengers.
The system trouble that shut down the company's computer disrupted the Tohoku, Josetsu, Akita, Yamagata and Nagano Shinkansen bullettrain lines -- five high-speed rail systems covering the northern and central regions.
At least three trains were temporarily stranded between stations with passengers on board, public broadcaster NHK reported. (Inquirer)
