You Truthful How

I got "Scout - you can be expected to tell the truth ". The first question about the stranger and the zip down, I put that I would not tell him/her because I have been in situations like that before, sometimes I did tell the person, sometimes I did not.

How Truthful Are You? Health & Special Psychology

Scout - you can be expected to tell the truth

Problem with mine was the hundred dollars in the bank and the two dollars change. I wouldn't drive back ten miles to give back two dollars. Not that I would really be thinking about what I could spend it on, more like wondering when I would be back around the store. But that was not an option so I chose the one that was closest to my real option.

You Truthful How

Unsure - sometimes you can be honest, yet other times it is questionable

I suppose this is true of me, because there are certain times, places and situations where I will, let's say, bend the truth, to get out of an awkward or uncomfortable situation. The situation where I got extra change did happen to me once, and I ended up driving all the way home thinking about all the times that I had been given less food than I ordered. I knew it was wrong to think like that, but...

How Truthful Are You?

I am a...
White Liar - you feel that telling a little lie now and again is okay so long as no one is hurt
After driving 10 miles away from the store it would be wasting gas to go back! Also, just because I glanced at another's paper during an exam didn't mean I thought about cheating. I do admit, though, that I need to be more truthful when it comes to dealing with the 100 dollar bank deposite error.

How Truthful You

Unsure - sometimes you can be honest, yet other times it is questionable...

Hey I try to be as truthful as possible but I can't stand hurting someone's feelings and if a bank made a $100 error or a cashier gave me an extra $2 it was because it was supposed to happen. of course I'd tell them to zip up it's embarrassing.

How Truthful You Psychology Special & Health

I think only the $100 question deals with being truthful, others have nothing to do with it.

Being truthfui is opposed to being a liar.

As I define a liar, it is somebody who gives the wrong information or hides the correct one in order to gain from this or use this in his/her favour.

Taking the zip question as example:

What exactly could you gain from not telling a stranger about his unzipped trousers?

Letting him pass by you without telling him a word might be explained by:
1) your slow reaction - he just passed by, you hardly would run after him?
2) you feeling uneasy to point him at the flaw in his outfit - I guess it might be a case with women
3) you simply do not give a darn about his pants! - maybe you're being selfish here but it has nothign to do with telling a lie.
etc.

Now if he asked you "I ended up being a laughing stock because of the silly zipper! Why didn't you tell me it was down?" and you said "But I didn't even notice!" - now, this would be a lie, because first you did notice it, and second and most important, you deny it only to avoid problems for yourself (feeling guilty, being reproached, etc.).

The birth certificate question would fit the quizz topic more if it mentioned that you gain from the mistake in your birth certificate. If this mistake gives no advantage to you and no harm to anyone - what' s the problem?

Questions about the friend's tie, no good time to visit you, are too open. Depending on the circumstances they might deal with being tactful rather than being truthful.
If the tie conversation happens when you both are getting ready for a party and the friend can choose from his ties, then it would make sense to tell him his first choice was not the best one.
But what's the point of announcing how you feel about the tie if you met the friend at the party and he can't do anything about his suit (unless you have a spare tie in your pocket)? With your truthful comment, you'll simply ruin the evening for him.

A $2 question - I'd score driving all way back to return the extra change as 2% of being generous and 98% of having too much free time on your hands... It's totally counter productive, it simply doesn't worth it. Not such huge a sum to ruin a shop assistant, neither to burn a hole in your pocket. Give it to charity if you feel you feel guilty about keeping it...

It's not like that I am taking the quizz too serious smile.gif Just the lack of logic steals most part of its fun.
