A Kenyan police official says gunshots and explosions were heard from a university building in Garissa Town in eastern Kenya. Police say they have the building surrounded. It was not immediately clear if there were any fatalities or injuries. Ref. USAToday

Terror attack at university in Kenya is over; 147 deaths confirmed

All four armed terrorists who stormed Garissa University in northern Kenya are dead, according to Kenyan Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery. The attack Thursday targeted Christians. Plans are underway to evacuate students and other affected persons. Ref. USAToday

This attack had many casualties: 70 and another 79 were wounded. This is a new precedent in attacks by terrorists leaving no where safe.

Five suspects have been arrested in connection with Thursday's massacre of 147 people at Garissa University College, Kenyan Interior Minister Joseph Nkaissery said Friday, according to CNN affiliate NTV.

Somali terror group Al-Shabaab, an al Qaeda affiliate, claimed responsibility for the attack. Most of the victims were shot from behind, in the back of the head, a medic said. Ref. CNN
