Any dog-pound fans out there? A recent CBSSportsline article ranks Cleveland's free-agent signings this off-season as second best in the league. Can the Browns become a football force once again?
I don't look for the Browns to be a force. Everytime they get someone good they find a way to lose. How much talent have they wasted over the years? They are starting to be the greatest losing team ever.
The Browns have selected the 2nd Florida State player in the first round of the 2006 NFL draft in Kamerion Wimbley. Wimbley is a DE who brings a lot of speed and power in his hits, but may lack the ability to hold his leverage against NFL sized offensive linemen. Either way, Cleveland has done well to draft him for his sheer natural ability, and he should help bolster their defense almost immediately.
Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmur was fired Monday after going 9-23 in two seasons on the sideline including a 5-11 effort this year. General Manager Tom Heckert was also let go after a three-season tenure. Ref. USAToday
QB Robert Griffin III signs with Browns
The 2011 Heisman winner was selected No. 2 overall by the Redskins in the 2012 NFL draft and was named Offensive Rookie of the Year. Griffin's relationship with the organization became strained and he was inactive for the entire 2015 season. Ref. USAToday.
