Who would want to buy something like that? Its something to be thrown away, not saved and sold for money.

The followers perhaps or a collector. Items like this will always be sought as it is considered a piece of history a defining moment. I personally cannot relate to the purchase.

Although this is something that can be attractive to historical collectors, I don't think such an auction should be held as a reminder of a person who did such violent actions among people in the middle east.

Wow, this is eye opening and it's in FP, which is a credible source. Now, this doesn't make what Syria is doing today okay. Nor should the present administration be held account for what a past administration did or didn't do. But it shows, as I've said once or twice, that countries will do what they feel is in their best interests. It also shows the deplorable lack of regards we humans have for each other.
