Iran releases seized Marshal Islands-flagged ship

A day after the ship was impounded, Iran's Foreign Ministry defended the move as legally valid, saying the vessel was seized based on a court decision. Ref. Source 2

The exercises are being held in an area of 2 million square kilometers, spanning the Strait of Hormuz, the Sea of Oman, north of the Indian Ocean and the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait. Ref. Source 8d.

Iran can hold what they consider a major naval exercise but they are doing it with a very minor navy. The USN has more power in one task force, probably in one submarine than the Iranian navy has in its entirety.

I think that Iran is trying to test itself to try to be a force to be reckoned with in and close to its waters. I think too many people are allowing them to do things and get by with it so they are getting a swelled head. It may come to bite them in the butt however.
