According to TV6 News there are now 13 confirmed cases and the location of these persons are in different parts of Trinidad. There are no confirmed cases in Tobago. The Minister of Health is being pressed to introduce abortion in case there is an outbreak but he says the laws of T&T do not allow for it unless the life of the mother is at risk.
There are 20 cases of the Zika virus in the country. The Minister of Health advises the public to clean their properties and prepare for the upcoming rainy season (End of May) where it is expected that the number of cases of Zika in the country will significantly increase.
There are now 23 cases of the Zika virus in Trinidad with one of those cases being a pregnant woman. In fact, she is the second pregnant woman to be infected with the Zika virus in Trinidad. Talk of abortion is still circulating the media but nothing significant from legislators.
I feel there are more cases but not everyone going to the public hospitals so they don't know the full count plus I heard they aren't testing for it anymore. They just treating with Panadol and saying the symptoms is Zika.
