I am unsure if this would be a good or a bad thing for everyone concerned.

Like Thinktank has said, making Royal Mail a private company would mean customers would need to pay more than they do already, and also there is already many private courier and postal services available.

I have worked for Royal Mail twice and also have worked briefly with FedEx, and I think the standard of service at Royal Mail was alot better and everything was much more efficient despite FedEx being a private company and charging more for their service.
