Well being pre-beta I guess a lot of the things has not been added in yet.

The supposed requirements are CPU: 1.5GHz / RAM: 512MB / HDD: 12gb

We'll see how it goes smile.gif

Yeah I think the writing feature is way cool, I see loads of potential there.

12gb hard drive? Kinda beefy but if it is running solid be well worth it and I bet half it is the help files. I left them out when I loaded Xp on a older machine. Well I should say my friend did as I am not handy enough to pull that off.

12 gigs is kinda beefy but considering that hard drives are upward of 100 gigs now, 12 seem like a drop in the bucket don't you think? World of Warcraft is that size when installed so for an OS to be that size hmm well not too bad just that the standard is getting higher.

Man Warcraft is big! I have been away from modern equipment far to long it would seem. I do know the more you root through to find what you need slows things down. With the machines today they can take big bytes fast. I was thinking to get a higher rpm hard drive though next time.

12Gigs is not too large I have a 200 gig hard drive right now. I have 2 g of RAM and 2.1 ghtz processor I believe. I am sure I can run the new windows. I am glad to hear that it seems to be better than vista so far.

Yep and remember the computers now are getting rather fast. We have SATA hard drives, dual core processors and DDR2 (with DDR3 barreling in now) memory. Computers now really should be able to handle that new windows with very little effort, if the requirements stay more or less the same. There is some hope for this new windows but I am afraid to hold my breath. I just have a nagging feeling that somehow Microsoft will screw this up. I hope I am wrong.

You are correct that microsoft will find a way to screw it all up. I have to keep telling myself that age old proverb. :A computer is only as smart as the person who programed it." This helps me understand a lot about the workings of computers. This is also why I try to help my computer out by adding some things to it so it is a little bit smarter.

If it is too good then they can not sell those little extras so if this package is looking good then there might be some real cool now software coming out right after.
