Obama to loosen restrictions on private ransoms for hostages
The Obama administration plans to create a new office to work with the families of hostages kidnapped overseas and adopt new rules that would make it easier for them to negotiate private ransom payments if possible, officials said Tuesday. Ref. USAToday
I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand their might be a small chance that the family get their loved ones back, but on the other hand terrorists will see it as a greater chance to get money. Terrorists rarely hand over hostages and when it comes to ISIS its even more rare.
